State Hospital Project - Still From TCSH Shoot

Shooting for the State Hospital Project documentary film - here's a still of Joshua at Trattoria Stella, a truly amazing restaurant located in what was formerly known as "Building 50" at the old Traverse City State Hospital.  Next up for this documentary film project, we'll be shooting in Pontiac, MI and interviewing the author of a book about the old asylum at Pontiac.

Stills from Corporate/Industrial shoot with Sony FS-700

Here are a couple of still grabs from a corporate/industrial shoot I did recently with the Sony FS-700. Lens used was the Canon 24-70 f/2.8L II USM. I am really liking the sharpness and exposure in these shots. Its tough to get good exposure on the light skin/dark clothing combination with Canon DSLRs, and I thnk the FS-700 performed admirably.

While we did do a proper white balance for each shot, the skin tones aren't exactly where I'd like them to be. I used the default Picture Profile with the "Standard" Gamma. Time to do some more research into "Cine" Gammas and new Picture Profiles!

Postapalooza Wrap Up

I had a great time presenting After Effects lectures at Postapalooza 2012 this week.  For those of you who've never heard of it, Postapalooza is the Midwest's premiere post-production conference.  Its a great chance to get away and spend a few days focusing on the art and craft of video post-production.  I was truly honored to be a part of it and had a wonderful time. Joshua
